February 8 Winter Potluck (6:00 PM – 9:00 PM)
The Winter Potluck is a social event for club members to connect during the off-season. This year’s potluck will be held at Brenda Hays home.
May 4 Spring Luncheon (11:00 AM – 2:00 PM)
The Spring Luncheon is a social event for club members to catch up on each other’s news and learn about the upcoming season. Our long winter hibernation is over! We look forward to bowling once the greens dry out and we can be assured temperatures will remain above freezing. This year’s luncheon will be held at The Anchorage at Hilton Milwaukee River. May 25 Butler Blind Pairs (9:00 AM)
Blind Pairs is a fun tournament for all club members in which partners learn the identity of each other just before the start of each game. Participants will bowl games in the morning and afternoon with a different partner each game. Men and Women will bowl together. Sign up is required. A $10 entry fee includes lunch. Rob Behncke is the tournament director.
May 26 Open House (11:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
Open House is an event in which guests and potential new members are encouraged to try out the game of lawn bowling. There will be demonstrations and lessons every hour with the opportunity to bowl immediately afterwards. Equipment is provided by the club. Participants are asked to wear flat sole shoes, no heels. Refreshments will be served.
June 1 Wisconsin State Singles (TBD by players)
This is a new concept tournament that will be played longitudinally during the season. All club members are welcome to participate. Men and Women will bowl together. Bowlers will schedule their own games at a mutually agreeable date/time during each round. All participants are guaranteed at least 3 games. June 3 Milwaukee Recreation League Begins (6:00 PM)
Milwaukee Recreation, in collaboration with Milwaukee Lake Park Lawn Bowling Association, will provide an introductory class in Lawn Bowling during the month of June. Milwaukee County residents may participate. Men and Women will bowl together. June 3 Monday Night Singles League Begins (7:00 PM)
Monday Night Singles is a league open to all club members. Men and Women will bowl together. It is competitive and a great opportunity to improve your game. This year, it will be split into two 8-week long sessions: June 3 – July 26 and July 29 – September 20. You may sign up for one or both sessions. Anna Witt is the league director.
June 4 Tuesday Afternoon Open Bowling Begins (1:30 PM)
Tuesday Afternoon is open bowling for all club members. Men and women will bowl together on pairs or triples teams. Team composition will be determined by the number of people and skill level of those present to bowl each Tuesday. Dorothy Bauer is the league director.
June 4 Ace/Novice Pairs League Begins (7:00 PM)
Newer bowlers are paired with more experienced bowlers with the objective of learning skills and strategies while in a social setting. Three month-long sessions will be offered: June, July, and August. New pairings will made each month based on requests and availability. Sign up is required. Charlene Harmon is the league director.

July 4 Fun on the Fourth (9:00 AM)
Fun on the Fourth is open bowling and socializing for all club members. Variations of traditional games will be played. Teams will be determined by those present. Men and Women will bowl together. The morning games will take place during the Lake Park 4th of July Parade. Members are encouraged to take advantage of our location in Lake Park to picnic and enjoy the holiday festivities.

The Playdowns Pairs tournament is open to all US citizens who are members and residents of the Central Division. Winners must agree to represent the Central Division at the U.S. National Lawn Bowling Championships in Arcadia, CA from October 16– 20, 2013. Men and Women play separately. Sydney Stellar (Women) and Otto Hess (Men) is a competitive Pairs tournament and a Team USA points event. It is open to men and women who are members of Bowls USA. Winners will be awarded cash prizes. Men and Women play separately. Participants will determine their own team. The games format will be determined by the tournament director. September 14 Veteran/Novice Pairs (9:00 AM)
The Veteran/Novice Tournament matches up our veteran bowlers with novice bowlers and is an excellent way for our novice bowlers to gain tournament experience. Each veteran/novice team will bowl together in morning and afternoon games. Participants will determine their own teams. Sign up is required. Dat and Rebecca Nguyen are the tournament directors.
September 15 Wisconsin Senior Olympics (1:00 PM)
Wisconsin Senior Olympics, Inc. provides an opportunity for Wisconsin’s older adults to maintain and improve their overall fitness and wellness, through recreational, social, and competitive events. Milwaukee Lake Park Lawn Bowling Association is pleased to cooperate and have Lawn Bowling included among the games. Wisconsin residents age 50 and older may participate. September 28 Chili Bowl (8:00 AM)
The Chili Bowl is the final club tournament of the year. There is not a set format of play and more details about this year’s will be provided closer to the event. An entry fee of $25 per person is charged and cash prizes are awarded to the winners. Lunch is included. Leif Andresen is the tournament director.
October 26 Annual Meeting (10:00 AM)
The Annual Meeting of the membership is held in the fall. The Officers and Standing Committee Chairpersons report on their activities for the past year. Elections for the following positions are held: President (1-year term), Vice President (1-year term), Treasurer (1-year term), Secretary (1-year term), Director (3-year term), Director (3-year term). Refreshments will be provided and weather permitting, lawn bowling will follow.
