Veteran Novice Tournament Sat Sept 20, 2025!
This club tournament was inspired by the veteran novice pairs tournament played at Jefferson Park in Seattle, WA and we started playing our own version in 2011, typically with two matches in the morning and two matches in the afternoon. The Veteran Novice Pairs Tournament teams veterans with more than three years of lawn bowling experience with novices who have three years or less of lawn bowling experience. It is a fun and excellent way for our newer bowlers to gain tournament experience. Veteran club members are encouraged to invite newer and novice members to play on their team. To maintain a competitive spirit, any club member who has skipped within their first 3 years will be considered as a veteran, however club members who have not often skipped or played in club tournaments may help fill novice spots if needed for this tournament this year only. Participants register as individuals and the tournament director will assign teams. However, if you would like to pair with someone please contact the tournament director.
Teams earn points based on whether they win or lose and by how much each game. At the end of play, the top scoring team is declared the tournament winner and will have their name engraved on a plaque in the clubhouse and will receive custom club t-shirts. Breakfast and lunch are included with your $10.00 entry fee. Meal contributions from participants are welcome and a breakfast and/or lunch coordinator(s) are needed for this tournament. Register as AN INDIVIDUAL in the club app. Bring your cash-only entry fee on the day of the tournament.
