Central Open Results 2026

In this year’s first-ever, Express-Shot Singles warm-up preceding the Central Open, 26 participants played 12 rounds of 5 end, 3-bowl singles over four hours on both greens and without the expected raindrops on Wed Aug 5. Congratulations to:

Third Place: Scott Lehmann (Lake Park)

Team Event: On Thur & Fri Aug 6 & 7 the two day Team Event featured 8 teams of four bowlers. Teams were divided into 2 pools of four teams each and played 3 rounds comprised of pairs, singles-triples, and fours versus each team in their pool on Sat through Sun morning. Post pool play on Sun resulted in two flights of four teams each. Congratulations to the Championship flight top 3:

Kenny Degenhardt Pairs Event: And in the main event on Sat & Sun, Aug 8 & 9, named after beloved National Champion, Kenny Degenhardt from Milwaukee, Lake Park, a total of 18 pairs teams played four, randomly drawn 14 end, 3 bowl pairs games on Sat resulting in flighted pairs play on Sun while dodging a brief rain storm on the last day. The championship pairs game came down to the last end and last bowl featuring father and son team Bob and Nick Schneider versus regular Central Open visitors Calvin Darling and Frankie Napoli with honorary club member, Pat Mueller, looking on while Darling and Napoli prevailed after a tough draw and through an increasingly difficult pathway beating multiple top teams along the way. Thank you to everyone who helped prepare and set up breakfasts and lunches, baked cookies and especially to Peggy Dickson, Randy Stevens, Peggy Cavender, Michael Skaleski, Rebecca Nguyen for building a beautiful reception and cocktail bar on Friday evening in the Marcia Coles room overlooking the beautiful lake. Additionally, thank you to especially Jim Cavender, Jim Grzybowski, Rob Behncke, Scott Lehmann, Rebecca Nguyen for building, running and scoring the Central Open events. Thank you to everyone who helped prepare the greens, clubhouse, purchased supplies and food, cleaned inside and exterior areas of the clubhouse and who assisted our out of town bowling guests over the week!
