16 Milwaukee bowlers competed in the club’s 2013 Pairs Tournament Saturday August 3rd. Pairs teams of men and women bowled together. Both winning teams won 3 games and the winner was determined by plus points. Overall a very enjoyable day of lawn bowls. This club tournament was inspired by the veteran novice pairs tournament played at Jefferson Park in Seattle, WA and we started playing our own version in 2011, typically with two matches in the morning and two matches in the afternoon. Milwaukee represented well at the 2013 National Championships, hosted by the Santa Anita Lawn Bowling Green Club in Arcadia CA, October 16-20.
