This past weekend Milwaukee bowler Steve Nelson emerged as the winner of Men’s Singles Playdowns and will represent the Central Division in the US National Championships in Arcadia California October 16-20. This annual event is competition amongst bowlers who represent Bowls USA’s seven divisions. Congratulations and best of luck to Steve.This team tournament was held on October 10, 2015. 16 players participated and were divided into two teams of 8 players each. After taking a hiatus for several years and then being merged with the Otto Hess Invitational in 2013, the Sydney Steller Invitational returned as a separate women’s only tournament on September 6, 2014. While only two teams played, it was a fine day of pairs competition. The winners were Rebecca Nguyen and Glorianne Mather.
